Smithsonian’s Capital Campaign Resource Intranet “Quiet Phase”

Featured | 2012-01-09 | No Comments

Summary: The Smithsonian Institution is undertaking a major capital campaign to help raise the $2.5 billion needed to improve and repair its buildings. It is the first large-scale private fund-raising effort in the organization’s history. Because the Smithsonian gets 70 percent of its yearly $1 billion operating budget from the federal government, raising money from private sources is a significant departure for the institution.

Towards this effort, we are creating a minimally-styled, phase-one, Drupal based intranet website. The purpose of the “quiet phase” campaign intranet site is to keep primary campaign participants (campaign leadership at all levels; Smithsonian volunteer leadership at all levels; Smithsonian staff; major donors) informed about the on-going activities of the campaign. It serves as a command center from which all final, approved campaign materials and solicitor tools can be accessed, and members of the campaign initiative can check on the progress of the campaign on a regular basis.

As this project is still very much in-process and final designs have not been agreed upon, the visual creative treatments shown here are simply a small look at my recommended treatment with greeked content for placement only.
